The Swing Lounge opened it's doors in 2016 and last year received a big refurbishment & upgrade with our aim of giving you a relaxed, fun golfing experience. The Lounge is fully open to members & non-members of Heysham and all we ask is you respect our equipment, enjoy yourself and bring your friends. Please see below a small FAQ on the Lounge, but feel free to contact us to find out more. 

What launch Monitor do we use?

We use an overhead GC Hawk launch monitor from Foresight. This gives you instant access to all your ball data including, spin,speed, launch, distance and a few more parameters. From November 2025 we will also have club data available upon request when booking, this will give you data on your club such as speed, path, face angle and strike.

What balls do we use?

Balls are provided and because this launch monitor is so in-depth, the characteristics of your ball will be shown on screen. It is a great way to learn what ball may suite your game. You are also welcome to use your own chosen golf ball, we just ask that it is new & un-marked, helping to protect our screen.

What Courses can we play?

We have 2 pieces of software available to use. FSX Play allows for a quicker & simpler game with over 25 courses available including Wentworth, St.Andrews and Pebble Beach. If you want to tackle more courses around the world and fancy a tougher, more realistic game play then you can try our other software; GS Pro. This has pretty much every major course available to play, but please request to use GS Pro when we set you up as our default softwar will always be FSX Play. 

Are there clubs available?

Yes, there are a selection of mens right & left hand and a ladies set. Please speak to staff to request any junior equipment.

How long should I book for?

It depends how many golfers there are. We recommend for 2 people to book 2 hours and for 3 people or more to book extra time. However, the choice is yours as there is options to play shorter games, rounds with no putting and other games. 

What about food & drink in the lounge?
All alcohol consumed in the Lounge must be purchased from behind the bar at Heysham Golf Club. Soft drinks and small snacks are allowed to be brought in ,we just ask for you to use bins provided when leaving. Sandwiches and hot food can be purchased from behind the bar during their opening hours. 

Will I be shown how to use it?

Of course, our staff will show you how to use the software at the start of your booking. Any issues and someone will either be on site or available to sort any issues. 

Can people come in to watch?

Yes, we know some families or groups may have non-golfers. They can come along and watch, it does not impact the price and they do not count as a player. 

The Ultimate experience sounds good...tell me more?

The ultimate experience gives you all you really need to enjoy the Lounge. You get 4-hours of game play, 20 bottles of beer chilling in the fridge on your arrival and food halfway through. Food is generally burgers & chips during kitchen opening hours and pizzas in the evening. The booking is aimed at 4-6 people and the food provided is based on these numbers. A disclaimer form will need to be filled out when booking this experience due to it being a bigger group and it including food & alcohol.
